Adding Live chat to your website

With Squarespace it is easy to add Live chat box to your website.

Don’t worry you do not have to be poised to answer at any given time, you can have it set up to give a message if you are away.

I personally have found it really useful and find that customers do use it to interact and ask questions.

In the past I have used Olark as my websites Live Chat Platform, there is a free account if you only have a small number of chats per month. It can be set to your company brand colours to give the right look on your website.

I have recently switched to using Facebook Messenger instead, the main reason is the messages come up directly on my phone so I can be more responsive. Facebook messenger also allows you to set instant replies and predefined answers, which can help a lot in optimising the time spent on customer service. Messenger saves loads of chat history, so you can easily see any conversation you may have had with the customer.

There is some code needed to add this to your website and link it with your Facebook business page.
